Places to visit Austria

Austria is a land lock alpine country situated in the Central Europe. Austria is dotted with numerous tourist spots. Tourists from every parts of world visit Austria each and every year.

The Belvedere: It is situated at Vienna. It was designed as the summer residence of Prince of Savoy. It is located outside the city walls. It is considered as the permanent home of Austrian Gallery. The Upper Belvedere houses recent Austrian and International art from the past two centuries. The Lower Belvedere has Prince Eugene's living quarters and staterooms. It is considered as a temporary venue for art exhibition. The imperial antiquities are some important features of the Belvedere.
Mozart's Geburtshaus (Mozart's Birthplace): It is situated at the heart of Salzburg. Family of famous composer Mozart lived in this house. The house has now being transformed into a popular museum. Interesting memorabilia and letters have been kept in a well maintained manner in the house for public viewing.

Schloss Hellbrunn: Once archbishop's summer palace is situated in Salzburg. The place has beautiful fountains and gardens. The palace is surrounded by children's play ground and lush green gardens. It is one of the perfect picnic spot in the city.

New Cathedral: It is Austria's largest church. The cathedral can accommodate twenty thousand worshippers at a time. The building is decorated with stained glass windows including the famous Linz window with scenes from history. The church is situated in Linz.

The Hofkirche (Court Church): It is in Innsbruck. It is a prominent tomb memorial for Emperor Maximillian I. The tomb provides evidences for European Court art. The place is decorated with high round pillars made from red marbles. The exterior is made in a Gothic style. The church consists of three sided choirs, round and pointed arch windows and a decorated roof.

The mannerist-Baroque Mausoleum of Emperor Ferdinand II: It is situated in Graz. It has impressive interior decors by famous Styrian artists. The building has an elliptical dome. The paintings on the building are magnificent. There is a beautiful cathedral besides the building.
