The Department of Immigration and Citizenship handles all the operations regarding the issue of visa and cancellation of the same. There are options of Electronic Travel Authority visas too. In these cases a visa stamp is not mandatory on the passport. Australian Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates and authentic travel agents issue these visas. In these cases a traveler is allowed a three months visit per entry. This is a multiple entry pass. The documents required to apply for a visa include: Fee Personal details all photocopied along with a page of a passport. Valid Passport Form 48 in case you are a tourist and Form 46 in case you are visiting the place for business. If you are planning for an internship, fill up the Form 913. The validity of the visas depends on the purpose of your visit. A tourist visa is valid for 12 months or till the passport expires. Business visas are usually valid for 12 months. But for the nationals of USA, Spain, Canada and France the validity is for 12 months only. It takes a period of 21 days to issue a visa by the Australian authorities. If you are functioning through a travel agent it takes only 24 hours of time. |
